March Promotion Ideas

National Nutrition Month

This month-long campaign has a goal of getting people to eat healthy. Fruit-infuser water bottles, portable salad shakers and lunch coolers are products gyms, yoga studios, nutrionists, schools, juice bars, health food stores, holistic practitioners, corporate wellness programs and hospitals can use in their efforts to encourage nutritious eating.

National Social Work Month

Government agencies and healthcare organizations that employ social workers can thank these altruistic professionals with items that help them relax after a stressful day. Think spa kits, scented candles and earbuds for listening to calming music.

Irish American Heritage Month

While St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th is the focal point of festivities, the whole month of March is a time for recognizing the contributions made to the U.S. by the Irish. Museums and societies like the Ancient Order of Hibernians are prospects. So are Irish pubs and bookstores that might be celebrating Ireland’s rich literary history. Indeed, take up the literary theme and provide T-shirts for clients that include famous quotes from great Irish authors, along with imagery like a writer’s quill and ink pot, and/or quintessentially Celtic artwork.

Women’s History Month

Women’s business groups and associations, as well as organizations across industries, could host special conferences and events to recognize female leaders. Lanyards for name badges, scented lip balm, awards, napkin holders and business card holders are a few items that could suit various events.

March 1 National Horse Protection Day

Equestrian and nonprofit rescues make excellent potential clients for this day that raises awareness about the abuse, neglect, homelessness and slaughter of horses. Create special caps these organizations can sell to fund programs that enable the sheltering and proper care of at-risk equines.

March 3 National Salesperson Day

The first Friday of March is earmarked for giving hardworking sales professionals a pat on the back. With professional baseball on the horizon, why not have clients play into the spring fever Opening Day induces with an ice cream social in which sales managers serve their teams the delicious dessert in branded mini plastic baseball helmets?

March 5 Mardi Gras

New Orleans is the epicenter of the celebrations that occur in the lead-up to Feb. 28, but bars, nightclubs, Moose lodges, VFW halls and even local firehouses in your area could be holding special events tied to this blowout party before Lent. Suggest noisemakers, beaded necklaces, glow bracelets, plastic “Hurricane” glasses, glittery masquerade masks and party hats.

March 6 National Dentists’ Day

The practices of dentists and orthodontists can prove fertile sales grounds for distributors, who can provide staff uniforms, gifts for employees, direct-mail items for patient outreach, and logoed merchandise the oral health professionals may need for events they are sponsoring and participating in.

March 23 National Puppy Day

This initiative is a great opportunity for distributors to help rescues, shelters and related animal nonprofits celebrate puppies and encourage their adoption. These clients can give doggy adopters free or low-cost branded merchandise, such as pet brushes, food bowls and bone-shaped waste bag dispensers.

March 30 National Doctors’ Day

Physicians dedicate their lives to helping people. Health-care institutions can show their doctors the effort is appreciated with branded gifts such as athleisure wear that includes performance tops. Tech and marketing companies that seek to turn doctors into clients can also send prospects gifts, like fruit baskets and chocolate.
